Dissertation 60

This is the hardest one to judge, as this is where you lay the groundwork for the rest of your dissertation and get buy-in from committee members. Normally this takes from 3-6 months. Not all of this is writing time, though–much of it is spent refining your topic and your approach.

Dissertation (60 credits) Introduction. This module provides an opportunity to conduct a project that is of importance to your professional practice and of relevance to your own workplace organisation; with the ultimate aim of influencing and impacting on the care provided to those using this service.

Students must generally achieve a minimum mark of 40 to pass, but most will aspire to higher marks than this. Marks of 60-69 earn a classification of 2.1, or B; Marks over 70 earn a First classification, or A. Writing a good dissertation requires honest dedication from students and an ability to motivate themselves over a long period of time.

This module is essentially an individual, self-directed piece of work the contents of which will be specific to your professional area and interests You will be expected to demonstrate a knowledge base relevant to the topic of interest as well as knowledge and understanding of appropriate research methods
